Home to some of the finest surgical departments and sub-units in the country, the Surgical Wing, includes the General Surgery Department, the Pediatric Surgery Department and the Urology Department.

The countless surgeries performed in the wing have incorporated cutting-edge technologies, including robotic surgery, 3D laparoscopic surgeries and endoscopic surgeries.

The Surgical Wing treats a range of patients undergoing elective or emergency surgery and is essentially one of the top surgical departments in the country and around the world

The Department performs a wide range of surgeries to remove benign and malignant tumors, such as colorectal cancer, breast cancer, retroperitoneal sarcoma, malignant melanoma, esophageal tumors, stomach tumors, and other malignant diseases.

Other surgeries performed in the department include surgery for morbid obesity, surgery for inflammatory bowel diseases, surgery for rectal prolapse, gallbladder and bile duct surgeries, liver surgeries, liver, kidney and pancreas transplants, thyroid tumors, etc.

The Department set up a center for treatment of malignancies in the peritoneal cavity along with surgery to remove the metastases and administration of Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy or HIPEC

The ability to remove metastases from the peritoneal cavity and to administer chemotherapy during and after surgery facilitates significant improvement of the life expectancy of this complex group of patients.

The majority of surgeries are performed with some of the most advanced and innovative laparoscopic methods in the world, including surgery involving use of the da Vinci surgical system.

The Department is spearheading the development of laparoscopic surgical methods and is the only department in Israel that performs surgeries without abdominal wall incisions.
